Guangxi Science and Technology Museum
Guangxi Science and Technology Museum, or "Guangxi Youth Science and Technology Center", is the largest science popularization and education base and non-profit public culture popularization facility in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is also one of the important platforms for China (Guangxi) to carry out scientific and cultural exchanges, science popularization activities and youth science and technology education activities with ASEAN countries. It was awarded as the National 4A Tourist Attraction in December, 2019 and the national civilized unit in February, 2015. Guangxi Science and Technology Museum (the old one), completed and opened in early 1983, is one of the earliest science and technology museums in China. Guangxi Science and Technology Museum (the new one) is a key project for the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Autonomous Region and was completed and opened to the public on December 5, 2008. The new one has a total building area of 38988 square meters and is located in Nanning, which is the capital, as well as the political, economic and cultural center of Guangxi. With the theme of "Exploration, Science and Technology, Innovation", Guangxi Science and Technology Museum has a permanent popular science exhibition hall, an exhibition center, a youth science workshop, a high-tech movie theater, an academic exchange area and other main functional areas, receiving more than 1 million visits every year on average.
